Charlie Christian, Count Basie, Jimmy Rushing and the Blue Devils - all played in OKC's Deep Deuce transforming a generation and inspiring musicians and leaders throughout Oklahoma and the U.S.
The historic Calvary Baptist Church, now prevails in Deep Deuce, a signature part of Oklahoma City's richest history - a church that once passed on hiring a "then-too-young" Martin Luther King, Jr.
Today that heritage has given birth to a new and complimentary form of urban neighborhood. The Deep Deuce Apartments is the centerpiece of Downtown OKC living with new apartments built in classic urban style while paying homage to the history, culture and people of the area. It brings vibrancy to this part of Downtown not seen in four decades. Deep Deuce is also now home to cozy neighborhood restaurants, clubs and Untitled [ArtSpace], an art gallery.
