Children's Museum being pitched as plan for saving Stage Center

Tracey Zeeck and Farooq Karim may be the last, best hope for Stage Center as they prepare to pitch a plan to convert the troubled abandoned theater into a children's museum. On a chance encounter at the Myriad Gardens last year with the theater's longtime benefactor, Jim Tolbert, Zeeck suggested the architectural landmark could be turned into a great children's museum.

Oklahoma City awarded 2013 NCAA women's basketball tournament regional

Oklahoma City has been awarded one of four regional sites for the 2013 NCAA women's basketball tournament. An official announcement is expected from the NCAA soon, a source with the Oklahoma City All-Sports Association said. With the awarding of the regional, the city and Chesapeake Energy Arena will play host to a pair of regional semifinals, followed two days later by a regional final. The winner of that final will advance to the Final Four.

Oklahoma City's skyline will continue to change with new hotel, apartments

The new skyline, with Devon Energy Center above it all, is quite visible for miles. In just a few months, the public will get a closer view of it all as the construction cranes disappear and work is wrapped up on the $750 million headquarters.

Boeing will move at least 800 employees to Oklahoma City

Boeing has announced that more jobs will be added to its Oklahoma City operation as it prepares to close a plant in Wichita, Kansas. Oklahoma City likely will get at least 800 jobs, the majority coming from Wichita — with others coming from Puget Sound, Wash.

Part of Oklahoma City's new Crosstown Expressway to open Thursday

After nearly seven years, one-half of the most expensive road construction project in state history is scheduled to open for traffic Thursday. The eastbound lanes of the new Interstate 40 Crosstown will open for traffic about 1 p.m. Thursday. Westbound motorists will continue to use the existing Crosstown for another three to six weeks, a spokeswoman said Tuesday.
